ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE...

In 1933, Adam and Beatrice Sibol purchased The Beaver Inn located at 48 North Beaver Street in historic downtown York, PA. For the next decade, they owned and operated a thriving post-Prohibition restaurant.

In 1944, Mary and Sonny Sibol bought the Beaver Inn from Sonny's parents, Adam and Beatrice, and changed the name to The White Rose Bar & Grill. For 40 years, Mary and Sonny dedicated themselves to growing and maintaining the business.

In 1984, Sonny approached his son, Tom Sibol, with the confidence only a father can have, and said, "It's time." Tom embraced the responsibility and has continued to invest in and expand the business.

Under Tom's ownership, the single bar grew into three distinct areas under one roof: Stogies (the original bar and designated smoking area), the Philly Bar, and the Beaver Bar as well as our three unique dining areas.

Today, the restaurant seats 390 guests and remains a downtown staple. You'll often find Tom, along with his three children and two of his five grandchildren, working hard to carry on the legacy started by Adam and Beatrice.
